eurorisnet logoEuroRIs-Net+ builds on the Network of National Contact Points for the Research Infrastructures programme (RIs NCPs) to provide value-added services, which will facilitate transnational cooperation of NCPs, promoting the effective implementation of the RI programme, highlighting opportunities offered by Research Infrastructures - at the European and international level - and their impact on e-science.

The Network develops observatory functions for EC and national Research Infrastructures policies, programmes and initiatives, supported by an efficient dialogue scheme for RI NCPs with the RI ecosystem and a sustainable and comprehensive RI Knowledge Repository.

Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities (DARIAH) logoThe grand vision for DARIAH is to facilitate long-term access to, and use of, all European Arts and Humanities (A+H) digital research data. The DARIAH infrastructure will be a connected network of people, information, tools, and methodologies for investigating, exploring and supporting work across the broad spectrum of the digital humanities. The core strategy of DARIAH is to bring together national, regional, and local endeavours to form a cooperative infrastructure where complementarities and new challenges are clearly identified and acted upon.

Digital Repository Infrastructure Vision for European Research (DRIVER)Considered the largest initiative of its kind in helping to enhance repository development worldwide, DRIVER is a multi-phase effort whose vision and primary objective is to create a cohesive, robust and flexible, pan-European infrastructure for digital repositories, offering sophisticated services and functionalities for researchers, administrators and the general public.

DRIVER has established a network of relevant experts and Open Access repositories. DRIVER-II will consolidate these efforts and transform the initial testbed into a fully functional, state-of-the art service, extending the network to a larger confederation of repositories. DRIVER is integral to the suite of electronic infrastructures that have emerged in the worldwide GÉANT network and is hence funded under the e-Infrastructures call of the European Commission's 7th framework programme. It aims to “… optimise the way the e-Infrastructure is used to store knowledge, add value to primary research data and information making secondary research more effective, provide a valuable asset for industry, and help bridging research and education.”

Data Archiving and Networked Services (DANS)DANS promotes sustained access to digital research data. For this purpose, DANS encourages researchers to archive and reuse data in a sustained manner, e.g. through the online archiving system EASY. DANS also provides access, via NARCIS.nl, to thousands of scientific datasets, e-publications and other research information in the Netherlands. In addition, the institute provides training and advice, and performs research into sustained access to digital information.

Driven by data, DANS ensures that access to digital research data keeps improving, through its services and by taking part in national & international projects and networks. DANS is an institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).

DART-Europe E-thesesDART-Europe is a partnership of research libraries and library consortia who are working together to improve global access to European research theses. DART-Europe is endorsed by LIBER (Ligue des Bibliothèques Européennes de Recherche), and it is the European Working Group of the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD).

The DART-Europe partners help to provide researchers with a single European Portal for the discovery of Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs), and they participate in advocacy to influence future European e-theses developments. DART-Europe offers partners a European networking forum on ETD issues, and may provide the opportunity to submit collaborative funding applications to achieve DART-Europe's vision for ETDs.

Confederation of Open Access Repositories COAR, the Confederation of Open Access Repositories, is a young, fast growing association of repository initiatives launched in October 2009, uniting and representing 90 institutions worldwide (Europe, Latin America, Asia, and North America). Its mission is to enhance greater visibility and application of research outputs through global networks of Open Access digital repositories.

Through its member institutions COAR is working towards the development of a global Open Access repository community of practice from across counties, regions and disciplines. Our vision is a global knowledge infrastructure of networking Open Access repositories. Currently, COAR has three working groups, each with its own set of responsibilities, objectives, and related activities.

aparsen-logoAPARSEN is a Network of Excellence that brings together an extremely diverse set of practitioner organisations and researchers in order to bring coherence, cohesion and continuity to research into barriers to the long-term accessibility and usability of digital information and data, exploiting our diversity by building a long-lived Virtual Centre of Digital Preservation Excellence.

The research leading to these results has received funding from the European Community’s Seventh Framework Programme FP7/2007-2013 – ICT-2009.4.1: Digital Libraries and Digital Preservation– under grant agreement No 269977.
